67 volunteers showed up at the Marine Parents headquarters on Saturday, November 6th and packed a total of 1230 care packages for Marines in Afghanistan. We had volunteers come in from all over the country, including visitors from Florida, Michigan, Texas, North Carolina, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.

We would like to thank all of our volunteers for their hard work as well as our generous contributors. A special thank you to Cherry Central, Swedish Match Cigars and Jack Blank/Booneville Bakery for donating 1500 Twinkies to serve as the Marines’ “birthday cake” for their 235th birthday!
We recognized our friend Joe from USPS at the pack day for all his help in getting the packages shipped out by presenting him with a special plaque and coin. Thanks for your support Joe!
Our outreach program director Barb Patterson and her husband also joined us on Saturday to help us pack boxes. It was great to have her here!
