On Saturday, January 22, 2011, about 100 volunteers arrived at the MarineParents.com, Inc. corporate office and warehouse to pack care packages for deployed Marines. Those volunteers included a Staff Sergeant and his 12 young Marines who drove in from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to help with the packing. It was great to have the Marines here with us participating in this incredible troop-support event!
A total of 1,317 boxes were sealed, stamped and shipped overseas, totaling nearly $14,000 in shipping costs (800 were already assembled from our pack day in South Carolina, and the rest were assembled on Saturday). Everyone worked hard and had a great time knowing that 1,317 Marines would receive some love and care from home.
Stay tuned for a slideshow of photos from the pack day!
The evening of the pack day many of our volunteers, a few former Marines and other Marine families and supporters attended our Marine Parents Outreach Dinner.
